My New Car - A 2006 MG TF

Updated: Apr 29, 2019

It's been a long while since I've written on here, but I thought I'd share the exciting news of my latest 4 wheeled addition, an MG TF!

It joins the Rover 45 in my quintessentially British garage, a car that it shares many features with including the infamous K-Series engine that British classic car owners will be all too familiar with. It's a car that I am incredibly excited to drive, making for a much more thrilling experience than the sedated Rover that I've grown used to. It's the first car that I've ever owned that's actually got a bit of go!

Here's a breakdown of some of the car's key features.

MG TF key features

Predictably, I've not long owned the car before I've started to make changes and modifications to it. There will be updates to follow on the different things that I do to it, including a new exhaust from TT Performance. I was also required to do some 'fettling' with the windows which, in classic MG style, let in much more rain water than I'd have liked them to. It was a simple fix, removing the door cards and then adjusting a few nuts and bolts. After a thorough read on the online forums, of course!

It's little changes and improvements like this that I look forward to when it comes to sports car ownership. Only petrolheads will understand the joy and satisfaction that comes from a successfully resolved issue after hours of fettling.

As summer approaches, I'm looking forward to the sunny weekend drives that will inevitably take place- and there'll surely be more blogs coming soon as I hope to share the thrills and spills of sports car ownership with you all!

For more pictures of my TF and to follow my day to day experiences with it, you can follow me on instagram where I am much more active than on this blog!
